The one other big thing on my mind is how can I read Fall-from-Grace's diary, I'll go check that ASAP. I think my favorite thing about is the fact that TNO's companions were all people who decided to sacrifice their lives for him in search for a release or catharsis of sorts. It didn't tear me or my heart apart, but it was a worthy sendoff. The Brothel's an amazing place, especially. I think the high point of the game, for me, was exploring Clerk's Ward. I like the discussion about it with The Transcended One, though.) I didn't expect "What can change the nature of a man?" to receive such answers, Ravel made it feel like the question was going to become even more profound than it was (e.g. I got the ending where TNO bids farewell to his companions (that part almost got a tear out of my eyes) and goes to the Blood War, and the one where his mortality dies (I both got it by using the Blade of the Immortal and letting TNO focus in on himself to destroy them both). But then, the main question of the game is another one (and excellent too). It's a shame the game doesn't go deeper there. Some incarnation from the Nameless One say something like "how can something be immortal and still die?" That's a great quote that hints are memory, personally and the essence of oneself. But the Stone did not respond it merely sat, and cast its shadow."ģ. 'Have we not given enough offerings?' the farmer asked, begging almost upon his hands and needs. He asked the Stone why it did nothing when the fields were parched and dying, why the animals and the people suffered while the Stone did not a thing. A farmer journeyed to the Worshipping Stone, and again implored it as to the cause of the drought. I like this short story a lot: "Once, a large village was struck by a terrible drought. Sometimes I find mself just repeating in my head some battle quotes from Fall-from-Grace. It's more a interactive book than a game, but I thought the story was excellent.ġ. #TORMENT TIDES OF NUMENERA SPHERE PUZZLE FULL#Is there anything before the Tenement of Thugs part that I need to review for the story? I recall Deionnara saying "You shall meet enemies three, but none more powerful than yourself in your full glory", but that's it. The lore's slowly expanding, too, and I'm engrossed. Before this, it felt like there was way too much that required violence/dying over and over, but now the game feels much more cohesive and I feel much more capable. The game finally, finally started to click. I know that others can be recruited though (a Kotaku retrospective a year or so ago stated that there's someone you can only recruit by lying about your purpose).īefore going into the Catacombs, I accidentally aggro'd the guys guarding the gate, and having to kill them as I went back-and-forth skewed my alignment to Chaotic Neutral :c I want to be Neutral Good. In enduring, grow strong.", Annah, TNO and Morte, Ignus and Fall-from-Grace). I currently have six people in my party (the guy that goes "Endure. I'm done with most questlines there (and I recruited Fall-from-Grace), but I haven't gotten Ecco to speak. I chanced upon the Brothel, and it's honestly one of the most interesting locales I've seen in any game. I'd gotten the golden sphere from Pharod once or twice in previous attempts (there's something meta as hell about vaguely remembering things I did in my previous runs), so I didn't want to start all over yet again. I'd gotten to the Tenement of Thugs in my most recent run (weird place to give up, in retrospect), so when I tried to give PS:T (the Enhanced Edition) another try, I just started from there. Thing is, I love games primarily for their narratives, so not having completed PS:T is a bit of a sore spot for me. However, I've always gotten stuck somewhere or been distracted by another game, then forgot and decided to start from the beginning, repeat ad infinitum. I have tried to finish it no less than five times. PS:T has been one of the most anomalous experiences for me in gaming.
